Open Calls for Project Proposals - All Funds

Pre-Announcement Call for Project Proposals under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 

A new call for project proposals  to be part-financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2007-2013 will be launched shortly. Prospective applicants will be invited to submit applications for projects falling under the following Priority Axis of Operational Programme I ‘Investing in Competitiveness for a Better Quality of Life':

Priority Axis 6: Urban Regeneration and Improving the Quality of Life

Focus area: Internal Mobility - The call is intended for innovative project proposals aiming to reduce the demand for the use of private means of transportation, without however, compromising accessibility.

Focus area: E-Accessibility - The call is intended for project proposals aiming to use ICT as an effective management tool within the public sector to deliver accessible and secure government services.

Focus area: Education, Social and Health-related Infrastructure: More information will be available in the call that will be issued in the coming weeks.

The total indicative financial threshold for this call is €16 million. (The Managing Authority will consider increasing the allocation to use any savings registered under this Priority Axis.) Proposals are to remain within the budget of the call, however the Managing Authority reserves the right to award more projects, if it deems this appropriate and in line with the targets of the Operational Programme.

This call is restricted SOLELY to those projects that DO NOT involve state aid implications.

The actual launch of the call, together with details of the related Information Session, will be published in the coming weeks  The related Application Form and relevant documentation (including the list of eligible actions) will be made available once the call is launched.

Eighth Call for Project Proposals under the European Social Fund (ESF)

A new call for project proposals to be part-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund (ESF) 2007-2013 has been launched. Eligible applicants are invited to submit applications for projects falling under the following Priority Axes of Operational Programme II ‘Empowering People for More Jobs and a Better Quality of Life.'

Priority Axis 2: - Investing in the Employability and Adaptability of the Workforce

Focus Area - Continuous training and education:

Priority will be given to projects addressing environment/green skills; RTDi-related skills as well as projects focusing on the employability and adaptabilty of older workers (40-55yrs).

The indicative financial threshold allocated is €4 million. (The Managing Authority will consider increasing the allocation on the basis of savings registered on the Programme)

Priority Axis 4 - Strengthening of Institutional and Administrative Capacity

Focus Areas:

1) Strengthening public sector reform:

Priority will be given to projects looking at capacity building from a more comprehensive point of view bridging different skills within the same sector.

2)  Lifelong learning for the Public Sector

3) Strengthening the quality of employment services:

Submitted projects addressing this Focus Area will be prioritized.

4) Promoting a more effective social and civil dialogue in Malta

The indicative financial threshold allocated is €7.5 million.

THE CALL CLOSES ON FRIDAY 2ND MARCH 2012 AT NOON

This call is open also to Local Councils and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) (or equivalent).  In ALL cases the organisation must have been set up for at least ONE year before the day of the launch of the call.

INFORMATION SESSIONS

For further guidance, prospective applicants are also invited to register for one of the half-day Information Sessions being organised that will be held in Malta on:

  • Friday, 3rd February 2012 from 12:00 pm (noon) to 4:00 pm; and
  • Monday 6th February 2012 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm (noon).

The Registration Form can be downloaded from here and forwarded to registrations.ppcd@gov.mt by not later than noon of Wednesday 1st February 2012. Places are limited and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. The number of participants per organisation may be restricted, if necessary.

Another call for proposals under Axis 3 (as advertised in the pre-announcement) will be launched shortly.

Announcement of the Second Call for Standard Projects under the ENPI CBC MED Programme

On Wednesday 21st December 2011, the ENPI CBC MED Programme has launched the first phase of the Second Call for Standard Projects which shall remain open until the 29th February 2012. This call will focus on the Programme's four priorities:

1) promotion of socio-economic development and enhancement of territories;
2) promotion of environmental sustainability at basin level;
3) promotion of better conditions and modalities for ensuring the mobility of persons, goods and capitals;
4) promotion of cultural dialogue and local governance.

For a project to be eligible under this call, at least 3 countries have to be represented in the partnership, with at least one entity registered in an EU Member State and another entity registered in a non EU Member State.

€56.5 million will be allocated to the call, and the EU co-financing rate amounts to 90% of the total eligible costs of a project.

Information Session 

The Joint Managing Authority of the ENPI CBC MED Programme shall be holding an information session in connection with the Second Call for Standard Projects on the 27th January 2012 in Malta.

Registration to this event can be made through the Programme website and the agenda of the meeting can be found here.

This event will brief potential partners about the Application Pack of the said call and will also provide Maltese entities with an opportunity to meet foreign partners, exchange project ideas and ask questions to the Joint Managing Authority.

Interested parties may use the Partner Ideas Database that has been uploaded to the Programme web site  to exchange project ideas and search for partners.  


Call for Proposals Norway Grants 2009-2014: The Fund for Decent Work and Tripartite Dialogue

Norway Grants shall contribute to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area (EEA) and to the strengthening of the bilateral relations between Norway and the twelve Beneficiary States.

The Fund for Decent Work and Tripartite Dialogue is open for individual project applications from 20 October 2011 within the following two main areas/priorities:

  • Improved social dialogue and tripartite dialogue structures and practices
  • Enhanced understanding of the benefits of decent work

The focus of the Programme is to promote the decent work agenda and foster the tripartite dialogue. By improving this dialogue the social partners in each country will better contribute to a more sustainable economic and social development. The Programme will also increase the bilateral cooperation with Norwegian partners.

Eligible applicants are the social partners, public authorities and organisations of public authorities, constituted as legal entities in the Beneficiary States and in Norway with regular activities related to decent work and/or tripartite cooperation. The term social partner means organisations representing employers or employees. Entities at national, regional and local level are eligible.

Project partnerships with Norwegian social partners, public authorities and organisations of public authorities with regular activities related to decent work and/or tripartite cooperation are encouraged, but not compulsory.

Norwegian legal entities cannot apply directly as Project Promoter, but must apply in partnership with an entity from a Beneficiary State.

Interested applicants can access all relevant information about the Fund and the application submission forms via the website.  This document provides an overview about the call.  The deadline for submitting applications (electronically only) is 12.00p.m. local Norwegian time on Saturday 31st March 2012.
