The European Regional Development Fund
The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) focuses on strengthening social and economic infrastructure to increase competitiveness and improve quality of life.
Malta has been benefiting from the ERDF, together with the other Structural Funds, since it joined the European Union in 2004.
ERDF was launched in 1975 to strengthen the economic competitiveness of regions which had a relatively lower level of economic development.
