Interreg IIIB Medocc Programme 2004-2006

The Interreg IIIB Medocc Programme is one of four Interreg III Programmes in which Malta has been participating actively since it joined the EU in 2004. Medocc is funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2004-2006 to encourage transnational cooperation.

The Medocc Programme aims to facilitate interventions which encourage cooperation between Member States and regions in the Mediterranean area, therefore increasing the territorial competitiveness of Southern Europe. The Medocc Programme also aims to encourage the economic integration of Southern Europe, while supporting the Barcelona Process.

Malta is one of the EU Member States which are eligible to participate in the Medocc Programme together with the following countries / regions: Spain (Andalusia, Aragon, Catalonia, Balearic islands, Murcia, Valence, Ceuta and Melilla); France (Corsica, Languedoc-Rousillon, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Rhône-Alpes); Greece; Italy (Thirteen regions: Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Umbria, Piedmont, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany, Val d'Aosta); Portugal (Algarve & Alentejo) and the UK (Gibraltar). Switzerland is associated to the Programme.
