Public procurement in connection with the MED Programme "Capitalisation" Process
On the 27 July 2010 the MED Programme launched a public procurement announcement concerning the assistance and animation of the capitalisation work over a period of 4 years. Interested parties have until Friday, 17th September 16.00hrs to submit their application. The 2010 Annual Event of the MED Programme will be held in Thessaloniki (Greece) on the 22nd and 23rd September. This event is open to all stakeholders and all relevant documentation can be downloaded from the web site of the MED Programme.

Call for project Proposals under the ESPON 2013 Programme
The Call for Proposals has been launched on the 3rd of May 2010. Scientists, experts, representatives of universities, research institutes, and companies from 31 European countries were invited to become involved in these new ESPON projects. 3. Call for Proposals for Transnational Networking Activities of the ESPON Contact Point Network (Priority 4) €1,300,000
The Transnational Networking Activities under Priority 4 of the ESPON 2013 Programme shall provide targeted transnational capitalisation, awareness raising and dissemination of ESPON results with the specific objectives of (1) involving policy makers, practitioners, scientists and young academics, and; (2) promote the European perspective of territorial development, competitiveness and cohesion.
Traineeships at the ESPON Coordination Unit in Luxembourg
The ESPON Coordination Unit had opportunties for two trainees for a period of 5 months to join their international team. The ESPON CU was offering a five-month period of training for young academics in the final stage of their university studies in spatial development and planning, geography, regional economics, European studies, political science and/or other fields related to territorial development. The deadline for submitting an application was Tuesday 24 May 2010.

First call for project proposals under the Italy-Malta 2007-2013 Programme
The first call for project proposals for ordinary projects under Axes I and II was launched on Wednesday 13th January 2010 and will close on Wednesday, 31st March 2010. The call for project proposals was aimed at the selection of ordinary projects which efficiently contribute to the attainment of the general objective of the Italy-Malta 2007-2013 OP: "Strengthening the attractiveness and the competitiveness of the cross-border area, within a framework of environmental sustainability".
The specific objectives open under this call were Priority Axis I and II:
AXIS I - Competitiveness: Research and Innovation; Sustainable Development
AXIS II - Environment, Energy and Risk Prevention
The budget allocated was €15 million (85% ERDF and the remaining 15% co-financing share), with €7,819,149 allocated for Axis I and €7,180,851 allocated for Axis II.

An Information Session was held on Monday 8th March 2010 at the Intercontinental Hotel in St. Julian’s. The third call for project proposals under the INTERREG IVC Programme was launched on the 9th of December 2009. The call focused on capitalisation projects i.e. projects aimed at the identification and eventual transfer of good practices into mainstream programmes. ERIK ACTION is a Capitalisation Project coordinated by the Regional Government of Tuscany, financed by INTERREG IVC and supported as a Fast Track Network by the European Commission.

It will also give you a chance to discuss various aspects of the theme of innovation for enterprises with international experts. NATIONAL CONFERENCES: COHESION POLICY 2007 - 2013
Two National Conferences on Cohesion Policy 2007-2013, open to the general public, were held on the 1st of December 2009 at The Westin Dragonara Resort and on the 4th of December 2009 at the Kempinski San Lawrenz Hotel in Gozo.
The Conferences focused on the benefits derived by the Maltese and Gozitan people through the implementation of Operational Programme I 'Investing in Competitiveness for a Better Quality of Life' and Operational Programme II 'Empowering People for More Jobs and a Better Quality of Life', as well as, the progress that has been achieved to date in addressing the priorities identified in the two Programmes. The Conferences also featured keynote speakers, beneficiaries and discussion panels on various strategic themes targeted under both Operational Programmes.

Restricted Call for ESF Project Proposals VP/2009/012
The European Commission published a call for proposals under its ESF Technical Assistance operational budget “Learning for change - Setting up learning networks under the ESF 2007-2013”. An outdoor photographic exhibition entitled 'Investing for Today and the Future' was held from 24th October up to 1st November 2008 to celebrate the closure of the 2004-2006 programming period.
